Hashtag Year Three: Team Talks

Fresh Hashtaggers Edition

As far as milestones go, being able to surpass another year’s worth of challenges definitely counts as one of the best. And for Hashtag Interactive’s third anniversary, we’re not only cheering for the company and its accomplishments, but for every talented individual that contributes to the team’s awesomeness as well. That’s why as we continue our celebration, we bring you a three-part series of team talks, where we let every person voice out their thoughts about Hashtag life.

We kick off this round by passing the mic to a wacky bunch of people who have just joined the team in the last couple of months. Hear it straight from the Fresh Hashtaggers:

First thoughts on joining the gang

At first I thought I wasn’t going to fit in, because admittedly, my sense of humor is a bit ‘unique’. To my surprise, people here weren’t as serious as I expected. In fact, they’re all insane, too.

The Hashtag experience so far

I feel like I have one big family at work – I suddenly have a lot of instant children! Most times I just want to stay in the office instead of my place, and it’s not just because we have a lot of food here. Our bosses treat us like friends and we’re even on a first-name basis with them.

Big plans for an awesome future

I want to be able to have bigger responsibilities, so I can contribute more to the company’s success. I also hope to fulfill my dream of learning how to use Photoshop, so I can help the design team. Lastly, I hope that the Hashtag family will grow bigger, and that each one of us will continue to evolve and level up.

First thoughts on joining the gang

When I started at Hashtag, I couldn’t help but compare it to the company that I used to work for. But soon I realized that there, the fun and laughter only happens in the morning, while here, we laugh the whole day.

The Hashtag experience so far

Best thing about this place is you can have ice cream anytime. But hey, that’s just me. But seriously, the work process is very efficient, so we get to submit our deliverables way before the deadlines. Most importantly, anyone can express their ideas anytime, and everyone helps in making those ideas better.

Big plans for an awesome future

At the top of my goals list is to improve my skills in motion graphics, since that’s my main role in the team right now. I’ll keep on exploring new software and trends in video production so that the company can be one step ahead in this aspect. I also hope that when the Hashtag family grows bigger in the months to come, there will be someone to come along who’s as crazy as I am. I’ll work on having bigger biceps as well.

First thoughts on joining the gang

Right from the start I could tell that Hashtag wasn’t going to be a typical workplace. I already had to do a lot of stuff during my first week, but there was no pressure at all. I guess it’s because I got really excited at the thought of being surrounded by such creative colleagues.

The Hashtag experience so far

Not a lot of people can say that they look forward to coming to work everyday. That’s because not a lot of people work at a company like Hashtag Interactive. Here, my ideas are valued and I really feel that I’m an important part of the team (even if I’m a newbie).

Big plans for an awesome future

One thing’s for sure, I’ll do my best to take my writing skills to the next level. But I do hope that eventually, I’ll be able to come up with great concepts for campaigns as well. Oh, and I hope we can have more pets at the Manila office, too!

First thoughts on joining the gang

When I first stepped into the office, first thing I saw was the chandelier, so I thought it was one of those high-end companies. But then I got to meet the people and I found out that they are far from snobs. Everyone was really welcoming, they even gave me a glass of chocolate milk drink on the day of my job offer.

I really love working here because the company values work-life balance a lot. I get to accomplish all my tasks without sacrificing time for sleep or other activities like working out (hooray for gym privileges!). The bosses support us in every way, and the kindness extends from Singapore to Manila.

Big plans for an awesome future

I hope to get Google certifications for the company in the coming months. Of course, I also want to improve my SEO skills by participating in SEO conferences. Lastly, I hope that the growth team will continue to develop, while empowering each employee when it comes to digital marketing as whole.

The very first thing I saw as soon as I stepped into the office was the swarm of dogs heading my direction to say “Hey!” Needless to say I was totally thrilled and if there was one word to describe my very very first impression about the company, it’d be “YAAAASSSS!” But with play comes a lot of work; so with the swarm of dogs and fun times came a tonne of responsibilities even for me as an intern, which is awesome!

It’s different from other places I’ve interned at before; I feel that I’m very much a part of the team. People here are so fun and so friendly that someone like me — who gets so cripplingly shy when I meet people — had no problem at all talking to them. Overall, Hashtag has a great, productive, and positive work environment. And I like petting dogs!

Big plans for an awesome future

Wherever the team ends up in the future, I hope we all remain in touch and have reunions at a cool beach.
